Colt 100 years of service 1911

Recommended Posts

Todd Jarrett just posted on facebook that Colt unveiled their 100 years of service 1911 at the NRA show, and will start selling them in 2011. So in addition to the Remington I have to get one of these as well.

I predict that the year 2011 will be very expensive for me.:D

Yes, not long after I bought my Para 1911 it occurred to me that the next year would be the firearm's centennial. I immediately cursed myself for not waiting till then to get one to see what they would unveil.

Is it at least pretty?

Honestly? No.

I thought it looked gaudy, but to each his own.

I am sure they will be snatched up by collectors, but the quality and craftsmanship coming from Colt dont hold a candle to the many very high quality semi-custom production and complete custom 1911 options that are available today.
