Finders Keepers

I found a flashlight several months ago, but because I didn't recognize the brand name, it was lightly used and the batteries were dead, I tossed it in the glovebox and forgot about it.

Well, I happened to stumble upon it earlier today and decided to throw 3 AAA's in it to see if it even worked. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and brightness of the LED's. Not the best I've ever seen, but much better than I was expecting.

I decided to do a quick Google search to see what kind of info I could come up with. I was even more surprised to find they sell for $40-$50. I'll consider that a fairly decent find.

The light is a 'Coast LED LENSER v2 6 Chip Dual Color Ultra-Violet Light' (Model: 7732DUV). It has 5 white LED's and 1 UV LED, both operated by seperate power buttons. Although the 5 white LED's are pretty darn bright, there is a slight blueish tint.

Anyway, it's not much to brag about, but I was bored, so I thought I'd share the story. All in all, I think it's a decent find. A man cannot have too many flashlights - especially when they're free.

I'm now racking my brain, trying to remember where I found this thing. All I can remember is, I was surprised to find a flashlight, wherever I was.

It's probably 56Fordguys. He is a flashlight whore!

Right now as I sit in my bedroom, I only have 4 lights in view. A mini-mag light, a TLR-1 on the XD45, a low cost multi LED I picked up at the first Hero Gear gun show and a little jewel that recharges in the cigarette lighter with one really bright LED. When I got mine off TopGlock they were like 10 bucks. Best I can find now is 18.99. Check these out. If you travel, they are a must.

I'm no light Ho. 56 probably has three on his person at any time and 5 more within reach. Ask him to show you pics of his collection. They are in bound leather volumes.

Hey, watch it now. You have four lights in view, I only have 5. :D Never owned a Coast light, though.

For the record, I usually only have one light on my person, and one or two more in the work truck. I do need to get a picture of the collection, though.

Well, Tripledigitride, I have to say I think you got your money's worth.

I've seen the Coast lights at a few different places (I think Sportsmans Guide carries them), but I've never heard much about how well they work. Pretty much all of their models I've seen run $50 to $100. More than I care to spend on a light I've heard nothing about...

Got one! Use it for work and camping. I didn't know that the red light n the center was "I-N-F-R-A-R-E-D". I just figured that you used it when you didn't want to ruin your night vision when out in the toolees after dark. Anyhoo, mine is silver, and I got it at Lowe's.

I have 5 of those. They serve as my glovebox, kitchen drawer, and everything else except bedside lights.

They're great and you can get em' at Lowe's for $25. Can't beat that for a decent 100 lumen cheapo.
