How to FTF?

Dont know if this is the right spot or not but here goes. I'm thinking of putting my gun in the local classifieds and was curious as to how I should conduct the transfer if and when I sell it? I want to make sure everything is on the up and up. Not knowing if the person I am selling the gun to is a felon or not worries me. I dont want the TBI or Feds knocking on my door and asking me all kinds of questions. I'd put it up here but I dont have any means to get a benefactor membership right now. Thanks in advance all.

You can have them sign a bill of sale with the serial #s of the gun, date, etc if it makes you feel better, but technically you don't have to do anything.

The only stipulation is that you have no reason to believe the person you are selling to is not barred from firearm ownership. That's all. No paperwork is required.

per my pm I will pay for you to be a benefactor(6 months) as long as you pay it forward if your gun sells.

Almost.

You also need to make sure the person is a TN resident. You cannot do a FTF transaction with a resident of another state.

Ok, got it all down. Thanks for the help all and thank you to brooksjr again for the benefactor status. I will be paying it forward as soon as my item sells.
