Shipping question

I have no idea what the proper area for this question would be so I will post it in the catch all that is General off topic. If it needs to be moved elsewhere I'm sorry in advance.

Here is my question. I recently tried to purchase a gun off the used firearms section of another board, only to be told by my ffl that he could not(would not?) receive a gun from a private individual. Having never done this before I had not thought about that. After reading through several other posts many people specify that your ffl be able or willing to receive from a private shipper. what is the process for this? How is it different and does anyone know of an ffl around Chattanooga that is willing to do this?

"Would" not is correct.

Private individuals may send to FFL as per federal law.

Otherwise you could never ship a gun for repair.

Kinda what I thought too. I said the same thing about sending guns in for repair. I think the whole concept blew his mind because he has never done it before. Thanks for the help.
