I need some ideas to refinnish a .45 Auto Ordnance that I keep at the shop as a emergency go to weapon. The weapon isn't rusty but the finnish is not in good shape. I don't want to spend alot, and it doesn't have to be a show finnish. I just want more protection than oil and the holster.

If you don't want to spend a lot, then any of the heat activated finishes will do alright for your needs. I'd go with either Norrell's Moly Resin or Cerakote. I still only prefer Duracoat for plastic bits and pieces.

I was thinking that this would be the best route.
