I have finally picked up my first Glock:koolaid:

A second generation G19. Thanks, sck!

I was wondering if there were any kind of accessories available for Glocks?

:D

Now that I have your attention...:D

Does anyone use the grip extenders / enhancers on their mags like this one?

I think they would offer that extra 1/2" of grip length I need, plus plug that grip cut-out that bites my pinky. My grip is the typical 2nd generation, without the finger grooves (to the right in the photo).

Thoughts?

This ass reduction therapy is based on good medical advice, I trust?

And I thought YOU would only notice this thread if I referred to the "enhancer" instead as a "butt plug"

Yep. Dudes with big hands have big fingers, and generally enlarged nostrils.

Bronk, I can't answer you question since my Glocks are 3rd gen. But I can say congrats on getting a Glock! And no, there's not really any accessories for Glocks. Or 1911's. It's a shame.

Glad you posted, because just this weekend I quoted your signature line to someone. Awesome!

The more I handle the G19, the more I like it.

I went to the range today and shot my G26 for the first time. SWEEEEET!!!!

The only accessory I purchased was the pearce grip extender that attaches to the bottom of the magazine.

I'm thinking of getting a Vicker's mag release for my 23. Other than that it doesn't need any messing with.

Don't get me wrong, I love a nice 1911. The only one I currently have is a Smith & Wesson (kept it because it has been flawless thusfar), but I have owned Kimbers, Paras, and RIAs. They're awesome guns and I love taking them to the range, but the SW1911 is the only I've trusted to carry.

There just isn't any compromising with Glock. Sure, all manufacturers will turn out a lemon every now and then (and Glock is no exception), but as long as you know your Glock works like the other 99% of them, and you have a quality ammo, it's gonna go bang when you pull on the boom switch.

The larger slide releases are nice. Simple install. My Glocks wear them.

The KCI (Korean) mags work great. I have a bunch that I use as range mags and they've never given me an issue.

Why not get a A&G mag spacer? Put it on a standard G17 mag , you got 2 more rounds and don't have to change the spring in your G19 mag, you get more room for your big hands. I use that set up for my spare mag I carry with my G26.

I'm against the extended slide release, just causes premature slide-lock if your grip is of the modern thumbs-forward type.

I say if it's your first one you buy sights then a 3/32" punch, a 6lb trigger spring, a couple different connectors and play with it until you find a combo that delivers a trigger that feels best to you... Highly recommend the Ghost "Ranger" 4.5lb connector run with a 6lb trigger spring, short, crisp and slop-free @ 4.5lbs on the nose after $.25 polish job, really you can make several different feeling trigger feels by switching the few different parts... Have fun with it.

As a rule, are the G17 mags easier to find / cheaper than G19?

I've never seen the G19 mags cheaper, usually the same price, I own the 26,19,and 17, so I just buy 17 mags and fit the spacers for them. PS... Tried the KCI mags, didn't work reliably for me in any of my guns , I stick with factory mags, oh.. ya don't need the spacers to run the 17 mags in the smaller Glocks just gives you a better grip. Oh... the only thing more fun is the 33 rounders love'm.

I'd love to be able to buy a 25 round single stack mag from Tripps!!!!!! There's are the ONLY mags I'll carry in my 1911. Now that would be a BLAST!!

Been wanting to say that out loud all day!

I showed the G19 to the wife last night, and her first words were "Let me guess, Rightwinger?"
