New Gun, Or Not?

How about a G 34 ?

Thought about that one too, but I wouldn't be able to carry it if I wanted so it's out, not because of size as after carrying the G17 for a long time now I know it'd be fine, I'd just be paranoid that some sort of debris would get into the cut-out in the slide and cause a malf at the wrong time...

Eapking, the GBOB is on my list for sure (in fact I've come real close to just pre-ordering one) if it turns out to be a shooter... I'd be all over a commander-sized bobtail 1911 in 9mm as it makes a lot of sense to me as far as melding a lot of things I like into one gun.

You don't have a G26??? I'm 100 percent convinced that's what you should get. With the right pants and an Aholster you can pocket carry it, yet it still shoots like a real gun. Mine is only slighly harder to conceal than my LCP, yet it shoots nearly as well as a G17, (at self defense range anyway).

Thanks guys. I'm going to just buy ammo and continue to work to get my skills where I want them, pick up a used G26 sooner rather than later, and continue to keep my eyes open for a good deal on an STI...

Seems like the best plan as by the end of the summer I'll have hopefully improved to the point where I'll feel like rewarding myself with a new piece will be justified (and maybe the GBOB's will be out and be a possible choice).

Kano, bet in your hands my Glock might be capable of accuracy near on par with your top-shelf 1911's... Maybe I'll run into ya at the range one of these days...:D;) (don't forget to make it to a match one of these days you'll dig it).

You should get a Sigma. They are an original design and have great triggers on 'em, some of the best out there....

I have not read all the other posts and someone may have beaten me to this but what about putting some money into the gun you already own. Dig out your brownells or midway and look at night sights trigger kits, personalize your gun. Couple of glock 18 mags can be fun.

I don't think you'll regret getting a G26. You can' beat the having a smaller gun that feels very similiar to the gun you shoot the most. The only problem I had was that most people want to keep theirs so I never found a deal on a used one. I just gave up one day a got a new one.

I know it was a joke, but I've actually considered getting a Sigma as I'm curious as to just how similar they are to a Glock that they managed to force S&W into giving it a purposly awful trigger, If a Glock trigger group would just drop in I'd be funny to show up to big sanctioned match and maybe do ok with one... Or not.

I've got my Glock pretty dialed in to where I like it, they allow you to make them "custom" to their owner pretty easily, and I can change small things if I want or even go back to stock... I'll buy a fancy lightend striker and just shoot it for now, I like that it's simple and works when I want it to without any fuss.

I want something else but I also don't want any more headaches, especially after this damn flood... I want to shoot it, not tune it so I can shoot it and to a certain extent a Glock keeps things easy.
