I have been tempted to try their .380 ammo. Cabelas usually has it in stock.

Does anyone know how to pronounce the name? I've heard it about 4 different ways.

I've always thought their pistol ammo was a bit dirty

It, and really everything I've ever shot really, seems cleaner than Remington UMC. But I don't care, I can clean a gun.

I stopped trying to pronounce that and just stuck with "S&B". ;)

I have yet to find ammo that did not require cleaning after use. It's all dirty.

I've bought 50 rounds from Cabelas and 50 rounds from Bill's in Maryville. No issues at all out of my Ruger LCP. As for it being dirty. I think all ammo is dirty, but the 9mm Federal from Wal-Mart seems a little bit dirtier than the rest.

Pick just about any standard factory load FMJ round from any manufacturer and somebody will swear it's the "dirtiest".

You reckon that's why WalMart's been peddlin' that high-dollar WinClean stuff? It keeps your gun more cleaner. B)

S & B B)

I have used their ammo, .45, .38 Special Wadcutter, 30 Carbine. It all seems to work fine.

I have yet to see clean ammo. It's all dirty.

They were both Frenchmen. Use your imagination.

Just don't try to pronounce it up at Norris (or any other range or gun store) in mixed company. B)

Everything ends "ay" "wah", "oh", or "oo". Mixem and matchem.

Yeah, if you speak Frog at Norris you have to extend a pinkie while doing so.

I've been using thier ammo for years.

.45, .303, 9mm and never a miss fire. I clean my guns after use so Im not too worried about a little residue. Pretty good accurate stuff.

Yeah, I've only shot a little of cause I don't see it much, and it's never been a best buy for bulk online when I was ready to purchase. But I'd grab a bunch of it with no worries.

I think it's kind incredible that S&B has been in operation in Prague and Vlasim since 1825 in that part of the world with all the upheavals in govt. and whatnot. I mean, that's like 95 years before even Czechoslovakia itself was formed.

My experience is similar to OS's. I rarely see a deal on it that's too good to pass up. But the few hundred or so rounds of it that I have shot have been flawless.

Anybody know what kind of ammo they were making in 1825???

Must have just been black powder. I didn't think self contained cartridges came out until around 1850.

After reading Wikipedia, it appears they were making percussion caps.
