.380 testing

I'm not trying to "go there" again but I found this article while searching another forum and I thought you all might find it helpful.

I still don't know that I will switch over to hollow points in my p238 but I will admit I've had my eye on the Gold Dots.

Anyways, here it is..

Thanks Erik! I keep Speer Gold dots in my LCP. I think I'll hang onto them. The report actually made me feel a little better about a .380. Since the weather turned, the big boys are spending more time in the safe.

Thanks for sharing that. I did a lot of looking around before I settled on Speer Gold Dots for my wife's pistola. Nice to see that website, too.

Mine was an accident. Bought them when I bought my LCP. It's what they had.

Heck, I'm impressed that the tester had that many HP .380 rounds to test! ;)

But he sure did waste some fine looking pork.

It looks to me like the gold dots in general didn't perform quite as well as I'd hoped. But in both my 9's and 40's they sure shoot well...

When we had a Sig 232 we carried critical defense in it. The primary reason was it cycled 100% in the gun and was the only SD round to do so. It also shot just a bit softer which my wife liked and it seemed to have the smallest flash in low light (very unscientific testing by us on that)
