It's a stuffed, wrapped meat, usually beef, pounded thin, simmered in sauce till it's tender.

Braciole Recipe : Alton Brown : Food Network

It's beef pounded flat and rolled up. It's stuffed with bread crumbs, garlic, pecorino cheese, olive oil, fresh parsley, basil. Brown it in olive oil with crushed garlic and white wine. Then it gets cooked in marinara sauce for a couple of hours. Serve over pasta with a fresh arugula salad with balsamic vinagrette. This is how my chef does it.
