Anyone tried low recoil buckshot in these? I finally got mine running great with the addition of a twister puck...on my gasbuster plugs number 2 setting it will run anything...so far. The only birdshot it likes is some old Federal Hi Power #6....Centurion slugs/ball buck worked great....I found a good deal on some Rio Royal low recoil...but dont wanna waste the money if it wont cycle....thanks!

I have had it for about 2 years and just slowly worked on/improved it....Coal Creek refinished and fit the MD20 drums to it. It will go through a whole drum now without hiccup...damn thing is wicked fast.

I know someon who had one, didn't cycle very well and sometimes not at all with 2.75 target load. he said other higher power stuff was reliable though. i have a bulk box of hthe same exact target load if you are curious about it's details

I have one of the saiga 12's and the only thing it will cycle is the 00 buck, I've bought the gunfixers plug and the extra springs to try, but no luck. It will not even come close to cycling the walmart federal bulkpacks. I have ALOT of money in this thing and am at the moment very disgusted with it. Any help would be appreciated.

Try the twister pucks from www.mississippiautoarms.com

So far the medium twister puck has helped mine a bunch...it wont do cheap birdshot but it does cycle the federal hi-power 1 1/8 #6 shot (i have heard 1oz shot will not cycle period). I have not tried the springs...I would not go that route. The twister pucks are $21.00 and their are 3 different styles....mine works with the medium on gunfixer plug setting 2. Mine is a 4 gas port gun. Im gonna try some Low Recoil buckshot and some winchester AA birdshot on wednesday time/weather permitting and will report back.

Mine is currently being tuned for the second time over at CCA, as extraction with anything less than full-power loads (no matter what the gas setting) is a huge issue. If this doesn't work, I'm going to call the folks at Cadiz Gun Works. They're actually the RAAC-authorized warranty repair center for Saigas here in the U.S., and they may be able to help you free of charge. Here's the link:

Brian,

I think with guns as modified as ours we might run into some issues in regards to warranty work.

Well, duh! :P Without knowing the current configuration of Smith's gun, I didn't want to assume. I won't mind paying a little bit of money to get mine running right if that's what it comes down to. The folks over at the Saiga-12 forum all rave about the work that Cadiz does.

I have heard good things as well. :-D

Also to smith: Tromix specifically states that Saiga 12's will not cycle the winchester bulk wal-mart stuff(even the guns they modify).

I was told there was a change to the gas port in the barrel; on the later ones that helped them cycle is what I was told. just one possibility
