For $100.00 you can get a great quality knife. People will argue over the brands, but you can't go wrong with Benchmade, Spyderco, Kershaw, or even some of the others. Figure out what size blade you want and what grip design. I will throw a few out there for giggles. On the low end the Kabar Dozier is a quality knife with AUS8 steel. Its a solid knife with good lockup and the grip fits my hand better than most. In the midrange a Buck Vantage Pro or Cold Steel Voyager would work. The new Cold Steels have one of the strongest locks on the market and the Buck has S30V steel. In the upper end of your price range I would look at the Benchmade Griptillian, Spydercos, and the Lone Wolf Longhorn. Lone Wolf knives are of great quality and that particular model comes with S30V steel and G10 grips. I have owned and carried them all and have been pleased with their performance.

I carry the Kershaw speedsafe. It clips nicely inside my pocket. It is opened very quickly and easily. It also has a safety you can engage to prevent inadvertent opening. Very lightweight.

Knife would have to have a death laser in it for me to carry one that needed a safety.

I have been looking for some time now.

We were at the Knife Works in Sevierville to look at a Flash 2 and one of the salesman carried a Visionary 1. I tried his and was sold.

I should get my new SOG Visionary 1 this week. The Visionary 2 was good but the Visionary 1 was much easier for me to open with one hand.

Those are great knives. I like the Visionary 2. I've used the Twitch and the Flash 2 for work. I LOATHE the safeties. That is freaking retarded to put on a side opening knife. I am looking at a RAT 3 for carry. I prefer a fixed blade, myself. I'll be getting another Visionary 2 for dressier occasions.
