What is the Best Knife you have ever owned?

Recommended Posts

I've owned, literally, a ton of knives in my life. The SOG's that I own are my favorites, but the best knife I've ever owned (and still do) is a Buck 110 that was my first real (read: not a dollar bin knife) knife. I got it for Christmas in 1983 as a gift from my late grandmother. It's been used for every possible knife function (once again read: screwdriver; filet knife, gutting knife, camp steak knife, pry bar, etc). I retired it after my grandmother died to keep from damaging it, and will pass it on to my son one day.

Very Cool :)

EDC folder - I've "abused" my Sebenza for nearly a decade and carry a SAK "Farmer" along with it much of the time.

EDC fixed blade - Simonich Camillus talonite Chetan

I have a number of custom knives so "best" takes on different meanings.

I have heard many good things about Chris Reeves knives, I will have my 21 Sebenza JD forums edition at the end of August when it is done, I am looking forward to that one!

Well my most fun knife is my 7" KABAR with the serrated lower edge. But i've always got a little browning folder in my pocket.

I was amazed this past week to find that my son had actually broken the tip off of the Sebenza I had given to him when he finally graduated from college. I was amazed since I've not broken mine and he "explained" that it took a lot to break the tip off. I'll send it to CR and they'll fix it pretty quickly. I assume that they'll reprofile it by dropping the clip to meet the new point, but regardless of what they do I know it will look better than my putting it on the grinder and doing it myself.

Best knives I've owned are a Gerber MKII (Traded it), USMC Kabar (traded it) and a Buck NightHawk 650 (Still got that one).

My favorite knives are a Mora 780, Kershaw Scallion and a Camillus TL-29 (Lineman Knife). I still got all of these.

Knives I'm wanting to purchase are a US Knife (U.S. Military Pocket Knife) and a SAK One Hand Opening Trekker (Plain Blade).

Do you own any RJ Martin or Scott Cook knifes? I am on a waiting list for both a Q-36 and a Lochsa
