Is there any .380 ammo around Chattanooga?

Does anybody know if there is any .380 ammo for sale in the Chattanooga area? I can't seem to find any. I dropped by the new Shooter's Depot, nice folks and fair prices. However, they only had 3 boxes left and they were saving them to co-sell with any of the numerous .380 pistols they had. To take it one step further, I have friends in AL and GA that can't find much of it either. Does anyone know why .380 seems so scarce, even beyond Chattanooga? I noticed that 9mm,.40 and .45 is coming back to Wall-Mart. I think that the effects of the post-Obama election scare are starting to ease up. But as far as I can tell, the well is still dry when it comes to .380 and no one seems to know why.

Yes, I saw Winchester target loads at Walmart last weekend, $35 for 100.

AND, a couple days later the same Wamart (Bristol) had Remington JHP, $18 for 50 I think.

I've had a 380 for years and I think the pipeline is soon begining to fill. I don't know why the drain on 380, supply and demand but why no supply. I always thought of it as a 'red-headed-step-child' round that did not move much. But the amount of people buying them has really took off. Most of them are really not a range gun and will not get shot much.

Sportsmans warehouses truck comes in on sunday morning get there before the doors open and you'll get first pic on new stock....you might not be the only one there.

also try g&n pawn i think thats the name next to T&A darts and Bikers emporium on lee hwy they are a lil pricey but they have it sometimes .also if you dont mind a ride up to Cleveland Volunteer Ord. usually has 4-5 boxes

I bought 2 100 round boxes of WWB for $35 each at the Dayton Walmart on Froday of the 6 that they had on the shelf at the time. There's also a place in Cleveland that has it in stock.

Thanks everyone, between Academy, G&N and Sportsman's it sounds like I need to start my search along Hwy 153. I was in Sportsman's a couple of weeks ago and they were out, and didn't seem to know when they were getting any more. (at lest the person I spoke with didn't know). It sounds like Sportsman's is turning it over pretty fast.

Cabela's is the best to find it lately. The most reasonable explanation I've heard for the small supply is the combination of a surge in new .380 CCW guns combined with the fact that it isn't a military or LE round, so until recently, there hasn't been a reason for the manufacturers to produce it in high volume.

I've haven't seen .380 or 38 special at Wally World in awhile. I'm guessing those are the most popular carry calibers. I don't own either(yet) but based on an American Rifleman article on 380s it seems like they all have an extensive break in period. So I suspect whenever someone buys a 380 they buy all they can find.

Our northside Wally world said they had only seen about a dozen boxes of 380 in a bit over a year!!!

Last week the shelves were stocked with pretty much everthing except 380.

They had a ton of 38 and I didnt have any cash to get any, I just called and they said the shelves were bare again, about all they had left was some 357, 22 and 45 left.

Our southside store dont ever have squat, one is lucky to get 22 there.

I have never yet bought ammo online but am getting close and that may be the answer for the OP......But hopefully he can find some locally.

I have bought several hundred rounds of 380 off cabelas website. They are starting to get more and more in stock. It's cheaper online than it is at a store.

I think I will check Cabella's out also. I picked up 2 boxes of Winchester White Box at Academy today. 100 rnds = $46.00! That's about $12.00 more than the same amount of .45 WWB at Wall-Mart. At least I found some. Thanks all for the input. Some good points were made about the number of .380 carry guns now on the market and the fact that .380 is not a military or police caliber. I had never thought of those factors.

hard to find in chattanooga. i all ways look when i am out. but the price is high. check on line to find the best prices. the local stores are just priced too high,,,that is when they get some in.

FWIW, I was in the SW in Columbia, SC yesterday. They had tons of 9mm, 45acp, 38/357, 40, 357sig,....... I mean, more ammo than I've seen in one place in more than 2 years.... However, the .380 acp was kept behind the counter.... 1 box of 50 to a customer.
