Seeing as how I should be getting Norinco's 12 ga Trench Gun replica in the near future I was wondering what everybody would recomend for buckshot in a 2 3/4 shell.

Any of it works pretty well.

Cheapest is Remington 15 packs at Wally's when they have it. They generally always have slugs, not always the buck.

You want some that will make ya go WOW and OUCH, try Nobel Sport 12 pellet LE if you see it online. Still 2 3/4" but it is some HOT stuff, must be some very condensed powder of some sort.

The tightest spread seems to be some of the Federal loads with, I believe it's called "Flight Control"?

I'll probably go with the Winchester Super X 00. I liked using their .410's in my Judge. Once I have a decent stockpile then I'll start looking into specialty shells, like those Terminator Double Slugs.

I bought some of this but have not tried it yet. It is always on sale somewhere, $4.99 is regular price, and it looks very tacti-cool, if you're into that.

That Nobel stuff OS mentioned is brutal. Kicks like 3" magnum loads. :D Would not want to be on the other end of it.

I have a bunch of Remington 12B0. I did some research on SD loads before I bought them, and at least one article said that 00 buck is a little big for maximum thuggability. They recommended #1 buck, or 1-0.

I also have a couple of boxes of 3" Remington Express Magnum loaded with 00, but you gotta be willing to hurt yourself to shoot them.

Can't shoot 3 inch anyway. The M97 is 2 3/4, no bigger. I think 2 3/4 12 ga buck'll get the job done though. If it doesn't, I'll have a bayonet mounted on there for a reason.

I keep #1 buck in my HD shotgun for adequate but not excessive penetration.

Other people seem to use anything from birdshot to slugs for reasons I don't understand.

I have 00 buck in my 870, it's 2 3/4 only as well. Right now they are the Remingtons from Wal-Mart, green hull. I also have two or three 5 shell boxes of the Royal Buck, clear hull, from Rio Ammunitions that I picked up for around 3 bucks at the Nashville gun show. That stuff shoots really well and will put a hurting on you.

Yep, I went for #1, and couldn't find it when I ordered, so I went up to 1-0. Reducing the shot size increases the pellet count too.

I like the Hornady LE TAP 2 3/4. They even make a low recoil version. The Rio ammo seems good too, especially for the price. But really they are all going to have similar effects.

I'd suggest any major brand of 00 buck. Federal had the tightest groups, in my experience, any of the plated buckshot will be very consistent.
