December 14 - April 23, over 3 months. I had a hernia while in training and spent some extra time down there in Naval Hospital Beaufort and EHP. I shot sharpshooter on the range. My rifle was an FN M16A2, her serial number was 10290105.

Wow - you certainly won't get any dates with those glasses (I remember my pair fortunately there are no pictures with them). Thanks for the service and have a great time. Only trust the officers that will get down shoulder to shoulder with you in the trenches.

Congrats on Marksman.

Congrats on Marksman.

Those aren't the issued Poindexters that I had when I was in the Corps. Those must be his regular glasses that you insulted.

Sorry Steve....they switched from the venerable BLACK BC's to the chic Tortace shell BROWN in the 90's just before I retired. You can still get the black one with a cool "sports strap" for use with the gas mask

Well, the tortoise shell brown is certainly better than the Poindexter black that I had wear in the field. :)

We came from a swamp.

My rifle was a GM M16A1, S/N 3155417.

Army burned that into my brain 38 years ago. :)

Thanks for your service and SEMPER FI!

Welcome to the club.

Are you active or reserve? What MOS are you heading in to?

Active, 03. I'm off to Camp Geiger for ITB on the 17th.

Have Fun. I was there during the blizzard of '00 and at Stone Bay for sniper school.

Hope you end up on the West coast brother. And if you ever decide to become a sniper, drop me a line. I know a few guys...

Oohrah, Devil. Semper Fi. June 29 to September 25, 2009, Alpha Company, Plt 1068. A buddy ships out June 1.

When you make it to Geiger, have a beer or two for me on leave/liberty. I spent every on-base liberty at the Geiger Tiger... cold beer and good chow.

I'm an 03 as well, but I'm reserves--Kilo Co, 3/23, picked up Lance Corporal a couple months back. Good luck, let me know when you find out what unit you're heading to.

Thanks for your service. :death:

I have recently been issued the BCG's in brown also due to old age. I am glad the Army isn't the only one abusing their people.
