Just what can one buy with a C&R?

The Sheriff is the CLEO in any county, so it can't be "wrong" to send it to him.

Not in Nashville. The Sheriff in Nashville doesn't enforce the laws, the MNPD is the one who enforces our laws here. I sent mine to the Chief of Police.

you can also buy some machineguns with a C&R too :-D

Yeah, whats the rule on that Magic? They still have to be in your own state and you still have to do the standard paperwork, you just don't have to go through a receiving FFL? Wish I could find an M2 Carbine locally.

You still have to do all the NFA paperwork and pay for the tax stamp, but if it is in state and C&R then no FFL need be involved. Out of state still has to go through a dealer AFAIK.

There is actually a ak47 on the list Chinese Norinco ak47s of course with the serial within the right range. Probably cant really find one, but its on the list.

I buy mostly from SouthernOhioGun, AIM surplus, J&G, FamilyFirearms&finishing. CenterFireSystems, Century, sell C&R as well. All of them require a copy of your CURRENT license to be on file before they will sell/ship. Really burns my butt that I cannot get an AK47 with a C&R license, but you CAN get an SKS. ???

I think they do that just to mess with our heads...

Yeah they like to mess with us. I'd be really surprised to find a C&R AK47. Unfortunately the availability of C&R guns is not that good at most companies.

A C&R licensee can receive a C&R machinegun directly from another state without having to go through another licensee. If you see someone with a Reising, Thompson, Chauchat, or other C&R machinegun, you can file the Form4 directly with ATF, pay your $200, get your print cards done and when it's approved, the seller ships it directly to you. No other dealer need be involved.

So, if you acquire ONE C&R machinegun out of state, you have saved $200 and paid for the C&R license for 20 years!:2cents:
