Fort Campbell EMS worker charged with pointing gun at man

A Fort Campbell EMS worker was charged Friday with aggravated assault and unlawfully carrying a deadly weapon after an altercation at a night club.

Arrest warrants accuse Nickoles Dean Rhoades, 25, who gave a 625 S. Liberty Church Road address, of loading a handgun and approaching the 28-year-old male victim with the gun pointed at him.

Rhoades allegedly ordered the man out of the vehicle, warrants say. Rhoades does not have a weapon carry permit.

He was held on a $1,250 bond.

A little more information would be nice.

Okay, so somebody pointed a gun at somebody else... Why? What brought the whole mess on?

Although it would be nice know the rest of the story, out of curiosity, it hardly seems to matter in this situation. There is no "out" for the EMS worker, as far as I can see.

He was in illegal possession of a firearm, and based on the news article, his life did not appear to be in immediate danger. The victim was in his own vehicle when the EMS approached him with a loaded firearm.

I can't think of too many scenarios, if any, where the EMS worker would be justified in doing what he did.

I can think of a couple, but without more info there's no need in even speculating.

Not today... I haven't rested up sufficiently from that one yet. :D

Now, if somebody that was involved in the situation from the news article was posting here, and could answer questions... :)

The best part of this artcle is in the comments. I quote Haunted911: "You are allowed to have one on you as long as it's visible - without a permit." then closes with "Learn the laws people!"
It's almost worth registering with the Leaf-Chronicle to comment that Haunted911 is wronger than a wrong thing that is wrong.

How?

My very first guess is going to be alcohol. However… that is just a WAG and not based on anything in the story… since I didn’t read it. :D

Not much to read, I'm afraid.

And alcohol and/or women is always a good bet.

How what?

If you meant how is the section quoted by D3Vo the best part, and that registering to comment is almost worth the time, it's because Haunted911 was straight up wrong about open carry w/o a permit, wrongly calls the Tennessee HCP a Concealed Weapons permit, and then finishes his comment with "Learn the laws people!" That's funny.

What did I miss?

I really hope you are not one of those idiots that think you can open carry without a permit......

I thought this was Ft. Campbell, KY.

Didn't know part of it was in TN.

So where exactly did this happen?

This happened in Kentucky, yes?

I hope y'all are not among those idiots who think that TN law is the same as Kentucky law?

- OS

The legal expert I was quoting was referencing Tennessee when making the statement. (No Flames)

FWIW, there's probably more of Ft. Campbell in Tn than there is in Ky.

I may be wrong (and often am)

KY is an open carry state not requiring a permit/license.

Ft. Crumble is a federal installation, gun-free-zone, just like Ft Hood Tx.

OP did not include incident location......

if it occured in Tn, most of us know the rules....

Home address links to Clarksville.

Nightclub location not specified, probably TN though, since Clarksville paper jumped on it.
