Best XD model for carry

Recommended Posts

Well, I fired a box of ammo through an XD40 sub-compact today and came to a few realizations:

1 I liked the sc better (used full-sized mag)

2 I do not like .40

3 I need lots of practice

Now I am down to decision time - I know I want 9mm

but need to decide on 3" or 4" model.

I am leaning towards the sc.

Best thing you can do if you can't decide, you shot one, like it, shot another one, didn't like it, narrowed down your decision.

A buddy called to tell me he just saw an ad in the paper for the new .45 subcompact!

I'd heard that Springfield was trying to engineer a sub-compact XD45 but was having problems with the 3" bbl length. Did they finally overcome that obstacle?

I agree with Tungsten, anything sub-compact sounds like what your looking for!

Thanks for all the input. XD9sc it is.

Now I have to decide on the right/fair price. I intend to purchase new so what seems 'right' for an XD9sc?

Thanks for the purchasing sites. Any suggestions on holsters?
I am very happy with the products and service from the folks at Comp-Tac.

100% agreed.

Again, thanks for all of the quick/good advice. I already liked the look of the C.TAC for super concealed and the Infidel for semi-concealed carry.

Any information or opinions regarding these specific products.

I should purchase an XD9sc in the next day or two so I would like to get set for the future.

Make sure to get a pic of the new gun when you get it so we can take a peek!

Check our new Reviews System here. I have posted reviews on both the CTAC and the Infidel. If I had to chose just one, it would be the CTAC.

I really like my CTAC for my XD. I can conceal a service size with just a T-shirt.

I dont care for the C-Tac myself. I dont care for the IWB period. Makes me feel uncomfortable with it inside my jeans!

It does take time to get use to, I wore mine for about 2 weeks before I got my permit in.
