... A SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK WILL BE POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...

A STRONG LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER THE PLAINS WILL GENERATE A LARGE AREA OF STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER VALLEY THIS MORNING. THESE STORMS WILL MOVE EAST ACROSS THE TENNESSEE RIVER VALLEY LATER TODAY... AND INTENSIFY WITH THE HEATING OF THE DAY. AN OUTBREAK OF SEVERE WEATHER IS EXPECTED BY THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING... WITH NUMEROUS SUPERCELL STORMS POSSIBLE ACROSS THE TENNESSEE RIVER VALLEY. THESE SUPERCELLS WILL CREATE THE POSSIBILITY OF VERY LARGE HAIL (AROUND THE SIZE OF A GOLF BALL)... DAMAGING WINDS (IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH)... AND ISOLATED TORNADOES (WITH SOME POSSIBLY STRONG AND LONG-LIVED). IN ADDITION... SOME STORMS WILL PRODUCE LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL AROUND TWO INCHES... WHICH COULD CREATE FLOODING IN SOME AREAS.

RESIDENTS OF EAST TENNESSEE... SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA AND EXTREME SOUTHWEST NORTH CAROLINA ARE URGED TO STAY INFORMED OF THE LATEST WEATHER INFORMATION TODAY.

More like southeast, but there's really nothing here either. Got some light rain early on, but that's about it.

Somebody cracked the sky over Memphis. Gotta watch the ceiling over my entertainment center until the Memphis meet. Was gonna farm tomorrow in Hernando. Dunno about that now.

No luck for me today. The tarp blew off the affected area. Let's now say that I don't have to take a shower this morning. The rest of TN is gonna get what we don't use.

Do outdoor ranges shutdown in electrical storms?

Nothing here in S Nashville just overcast skies. I just looked at the radar and it's coming this way from the SW. Sorry that it has canceled the ride.

A bit of a shower in Monroe Co early this am. Most of the morning was beautiful. It is clouding up now at 11:30 and the big black dog is telling me there is a storm in the distance. I know, you asked about west TN.

The weather guys have been on non-stop for the last few hours. We had bad stuff move through overnight, some scattered stuff currently, another line moving in around lunch time.

It's clear for the moment, but there was some lightning and thunder earlier, with a bit of wind and some rain... nothing too bad. Certainly not as bad as Nashville or Memphis seems to have gotten.

All in all, a pretty mild storm, all things considered. Didn't even interfere with the TV watching. ( Watched a couple of westerns on AMC. )

Of course, having said that, I expect to get blown clean off the map some time this evening, just for spite....

Weather radar doesn't look too good for Waverly to Clarksville. Tornado warning. It's blowing a bit downtown Clarksville, already.
