Drinkin' problem.

Thinking about sampling different drinks of the adult nature back to back. What's the best way to neutralize the palate and go to the next sample? A certain food or drink? And do the travel-size bottles fail to convey the nature of the big bottles?

I'd say definately salted.

Be careful though. I did this kinda thing one Saturday before a superbowl party years ago. I ended up missing the whole superbowl because I spent that entire Sunday throwing up every few minutes. Also somehow those crackers mysteriously ended up crumbled up, and spread on the floor from wall to wall in my house. From what I heard I had crumbled them all up in the package, and decided to play quarterback and the crumbled pack of crackers was the ball. The ceiling fan took care of spreading them on the floor for me.

Actually, if you're consuming adult beverages, it has an effect on your sense of taste. After a few, you're not going to get the full effect if you...you know...swallow. There. I said it.

Can you be more specific about what you're tasting? I did a lot of comparisons with bourbons. Not sure I needed anything to cleanse the palate.

Was gonna start with bourbons on Friday. Then another category (scotch/vodka/rum) on a different night. I should also say I'd be choosing sippin' drinks first, with only rocks and/or water.

What do ya'll think about tester bottles versus regular bottles, regarding taste?

That's always been my experience. But I want to learn the differences.

PET packaging vs. glass imparts no taste in the spirit, nor does the size of the bottle.

I recommend a beer between each bit of liquor.

I always remembered "Beer before liquor, never sicker. Liquor before beer, you're in the clear." I got the phrase backwards too many times and decided I should never mix the two regardless.
