Here's a pretty cool animated video of all the components that make up a 1911 hangun. Shows them all going together and being placed in their relative locations. Pretty good job on the 3D artwork and video assembly. :)

That is pretty cool. that was done in Solid Works. I have done some similar videos of assemblies at work. If we stay slow at work after the holidays I will work on something similar for the M2 Browning as we already have solid models of several of the parts for it.

That is real net, too bad you can't save it to your computer. I'd like to have it on hand for referene.

Check your PM. :)

Very nicely done.

The only thing I would change is the the way the guide rod and recoil spring went in...I don't know anyone who does it that way (and it would be a major pain).

:D

Yeah, I said the same thing when I saw the video. Guess the author of the animation just figured it was easier, in producing it, to do it the way he did. :)

There are a bunch of ways to do that. http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/mozilla_cache_viewer.html is a freebie cash viewer and saver for Firefox. Just shut down the browser, find a BIG file. Save it somewhere (F4). And rename with a ".flv" extension.

He has one for IE too.

BTW, the Nirsoft guy has a bunch of free applications worth having.

This was much easier : http://keepvid.com/ :)

Plug in the url, select the site type, save the file. There are a few sites out there like this, that cater to different versions. :D

Yeah, I have a few sites like this too. But video sites keep changing their format and if you can find the file in the cache you can always save it.

But...whatever works. :wall:

Who has a good "free" converter that will convert .flv and 3GP files?

The only thing I really see left out that hasn't been mentioned is the roll pin

for the ejector. If they are going to show the ejector being installed on the frame

then they really should show the roll pin being install. The ejector is not going to

stay put long without it.
