It wouldn't surprise me if this gun will accept regular XD-45 magazines. I will probably get one of these... I haven't had an XD in a while.

I'd bet it won't, just like the other XDMs.

That's what I'm thinking, probably 15 rounds.

And I'm guessing on price, probably initially in the $625-$649 range based on current pricing of the new 3.8's at about $575.

wonder why they have 4.5 on the slide where they didnt for the 9 and 40 versions?

There wasn't a need to when the original XDm was designed. Now there's the 3.8" version so they put it on there.

True. I was referring to the 4", service models. The 4.5" XDM .45 has roughly twices as much slide length past the frame. This was the same issue I had with the XDM .40 I purchased. As a personal preference, I simply couldn't get used to it.

the extra round in the mag will be nice but the big things for me are the better sights (IMO), match grade barrel, better grip texture, replaceable backstraps, little better feeling trigger (IMO), and they just look alot cooler.

I had an XDM-9 but just couldnt get use to such a small caliber in a fullsize gun, when I didnt have a .45 anymore.

Same here. I think the 3.8" looks sweet and was hoping that the long awaited XDM .45 would look the same, whatever the length. Oh well.

15 rounds of 45 would make a nice range gun or might make a good duty gun (If any Police departments carry XD’s) but it will be too big for carry….. It’s Physics.
