I emailed Remington a while back to find out where their new 1911's would be made, I already had it by a good reliable source that they would be made in America, anyway here is part of the reply sent to me by Remington

...The gun is being made In our Ilion NY facility. We are not importing them. As far as the MIM parts go, like most companies I am sure there will be some MIM parts, and I'm trying to get a complete listing for you as of now, but I don't have it yet, reply back to me, and as soon as I get the list Ill let you know.

Thanks!

Its a good thing that this is coming out now, what with the 1911 market just about dried up right now...

I agree. I sure have been needing just one more 1911 to choose from, because I had almost narrowed the decision for my first one down to the exact one I wanted.

I am a fan of the grand old 1911 pistol. I also really like Remington firearms. I intend to buy an R1 when they become available.

Are you concerned about the first-edition-disease? And does anybody know what the actual return policy will be?

I don't know where our local boys are selling the C.O. Arms. If they work out the kinks like you would expect, I'll consider them. How many people send off a gun with an issue to the OEM only twenty miles away?

I am also anxious to get my hands on a C.O. Arms 1911. Having it built right in our own backyards is pretty cool.
