Romak 991 pricing?

a buddy of mine is selling his Romanian AK-47..he paid $350 for it a little over a year ago..i'm considering buying it but i was wanting some opinions..i'm assuming since its a single stack mag its a pre-ban AK right?..i found a good resource for info on the model but was wanting some opinions..i think i will offer $250 but would it be worth as much as $300-350?

I'd give 350 for that, if I were AK shopping.

I believe that the single stack AKs can have the magazine well modified to accept the double stack mags. I found an article on it at one time, I'll see if I can find it again.

i'd heard that it could be modified..i'm just wondering if it is more or less valuable b/c of it being single stack and if its a pre-ban b/c of that..i've always wanted a short barrel AK and the guy has $350 in it and probably wants that back out of it so we'll see i'm def. interested in it

it came along after the ban. that is why it is single stack. it can be converted easily though.

$350 seems to be a decent price for a "low cap" these days on the single stacks. Classic arms is selling their "low cap" WASR for $299 + your transfer fees. This looks to be in good shape so I'd say go for it.....or give me his phone number so I can pick it up tomarrow....

Make sure that if you convert it to double stack, that it's 922R compliant.

I suggest you pass on this, and get a REAL AK that takes 30 round mags. It will only cost you about $50 more, and you will end up getting one anyway.
