Can we carry at the Riverpark? (Down Amnicola Hwy Area?)

The website clearly says: TN RiverPark - Rules and Fees

Park Rules:

  • No pets are allowed in the park
  • No swimming
  • No camping
  • No open fires
  • No skateboards
  • No Alcoholic Beverages
  • No Firearms
  • Roller blades and bicycles will use extreme caution and will operate at reduced speeds on trails
  • No loitering around parked vehicles or in parking lots
  • Park closes at sunset in designated areas

To be exempt from carry, 'Nooga city/county parks must be posted with the exact sign requirements of the statute.

The website notice you posted, or indeed, even exactly the same on a sign at the park entrances, would NOT qualify.

It is posted. The local government adopted no carry. Therefore, carry at your own risk - or don't carry at your own risk. No win.

Avoid Riverpark. Carry elsewhere. Win.

If you want to change that law, you can:

1. Sue a la Heller or,

2. replace the idiot gasbags on the Chattanooga City Council in 2013.

According to the Comical Appeal there are 11,000 HCP permit holders in Hamilton Country. I think that would make us a decisive voting block.
