Is anyone familiar with the Remington 7600 pump rifle in .308? I have the chance to pick one up for $250.00. What size magazines are available? Thanks for any info!:D

I have the 7600 in .30-06 and have used it for deer hunting for the past 15 years now. I love the rifle. I used to hunt with an older gentleman who had a 7600 that he had owned for about 30 years and it was rock solid. That's what sold me on that platform.

I wanted a bolt action but left handed bolt guns are harder to find and generally more expensive. To me, the 7600 is a perfect compromise.

A serious hunter only needs a pump action Remington 870 12 Ga., a 760\7600 in favorite deer caliber, and a Remington pump .22. All have the same controls in the same location.

My father had a 760 in .300 Savage and in 40 years killed trainloads of deer, a couple of black bears, a moose and a caribou. My brother has the gun now and kills a couple of deer and cayotes every year with it.

Accuracy is not MOA but minute of whitetail is close enough.

The best deal in a hunting rifle right now would be a synthetic 7600 in your favorite deer caliber.

I think I have seen large aftermarket mags, but the factory 5 rounder is all you need for hunting. You probably won't live long enough to wear the original out.

I have always wanted one of these rifles; in the past, I read several articles that claimed it would shoot with most bolt action sporters. The biggest mags I remember seeing for it are 10 rounders.
