did some research and these were liked pistols. they are basically a scaled up bersa 380 in design for the most part. maybe I can have a range report tonight. this even has the loaded chamber indicator. 370 OTD from knoxville gun show(new) I am eager to shoot it side by side with my xd9 4"

Dang, you worked fast after we parted.

I was almost out the door when I snared a new XD9 5" to round out the Croatian Collection.

I did 2 test rounds downstairs, smooth pistol, this is a da/sa, and with it cocked it has a soft nice trigger pull. man, not sure which I like better, xd9 4" or this. but I will have to turn it over sooner or later ;):koolaid:

Ok which 9 Bersa did you buy?

The Ultra Compact Pro, the High Capacity, or the BP 9cc?

The 380 caliber Thunders are blow back designs. The Ultra Compact and High Cap are Locked Breech design.

IF IT IS The UC or HC 9, they are excellent guns. Ambidextrous out of the box. Safety AND slide release are ambidextrous, and the magazine release can be swapped from right to left. Round in chamber indicator, Polygonal rifling, and picatinny rail. Has a safety key system which completely disables the firearm. 2 magazines. Lifetime Warranty. All for under $400. It is a good deal.

The recoil on this are amazingly slight. The trigger is Dual Action first round, then Single until the magazine is empty.

Downside - Bersa finishes are not too good.

IF you like to talk to other Bersa Owners, they ahve their own forum. Bersatalk. Condorsflight.com is a good accessories store site...

IF it is the new BP9cc - Please let us know about it.

this one has 17 rnd mags(2). identcal in size to my xd4", front rail has some slots in it. no safety key. it cycled fine the 2 round shooting strait down in my downstairs test fire range. nothing that came with it says what size or model. finish is all black with white detailed sites, not sure yet if they are metal or plastic though.

Ok that is the High Capacity Pro. Excellent.

Look in the box - there will be a key chain - that is the key for the lock - the lock is on the left side of the gun - under the disassembly bar. (look for a little circle with a F and S beside it)

You will find this firearm to be EASY to maintain. EASY. Unloaded and no magazine, pull the disassembly bar down and the slide comes right off.

Make sure to clean the shipping grease off the firearm. (This includes the inside, so break it down for cleaning...)

ENJOY!

this one doesn't have the lockout, I know what they look like, as the 380 I sold had that feature. the seller said he had this for a while. told me he would take 329 + fees instead of the 349 it had marked cause he wanted to get rid of it since he had it a while. we don't have kids right now to worry about so will be ok for a while there

where is a good place to get a extra mag or 2 down the road??? ctd was like 40+ for one factory mag. I guess they sell the pistols on the cheap but price up the mags

The mags are expensive, and the off brand stuff simply does not work well.

factory mags are the way to go, but yes, $40 +

I've had just about every caliber Bersa but the 9mm. It should serve you well. Besra is one of the most under rated firearms on the market. Good choice!

I was surprised about how inexpensive. butt hey do make alot of money back if you buy extra mags from them. must be part of there marketing strategy. there are some other company's that do the same, cheap gun price high spare mag cost

I would much rather have a $40 mag that worked then a $19 crap shoot. Ever priced a Kahr mag? Nothing about them cheap.. At least ya can save some cash on the pistola..

I am not mad, as this seems like a pistol I would want to use in place of my xd9 4" just something to keep in mind. at least it came with 2 mags, and a nice 17 rounds each. trigger pull is so nice. and I like a external hammer I can decock on a live round +mech safety, the only 2 things I don't like about the very well refined and thought out xd pistols.

RANGE REPORT

fired about 110 rounds thru it, we both liked it, shoots very similiar to my xd9 4". fired aboiut 110 or so round w/o any trouble. after doing a little bit of research, I found that xd9 mags could be moddified to work on this. with both of us shooting it shot lower than the sights made it appear that it would have hit. and I was shooting it to the right, but likely shooter error. no FTF, FTE etc, flawless function.

DaddyO - they are in the catalog for this year, but I am unsure if the BP9cc are out yet. Very curious myself.

aj81557 - you are correct - The sights are set a little different. I cannot remember the "proper" way of calling it, but easy to adjust to.

Glad you like it. Thanks for the range report.

I have owned 2 380s and the UC 9 Pro you spoke of. The 9uc pro is a great pistol and was very happy with it for everyday carry. The 380s were another story, sent back to mother twice to get fixed. But great guns at great prices. Also, www.bersatalk.com is a great site to learn about them.

I have the Ultra Compact 9mm "semi-pro", the model that was being made just before the pro. It has the rail and the loaded chamber indicator, but does not say "Pro" on the slide.

I agree with what has been said; Bersas are highly underrated firearms. They make excellent carry weapons as they are accurate and reliable. Never had a single failure with mine.

That said, I may be selling mine to help pay for that M&P 45c I ordered from Bud's last week.

Please tell me more about this...i HATE the cost of Bersa magazines. One can sometimes find a deal on XD mags. What ,mods are necessary tomake them work? Also, would the new 19 round XDM9 mags also work?

the plastic piece on the bottom of the mags that slides off needs to be swapped and put a bersa lower piece instead of axd lower plastic cap.

a slot will need to be made at the correct location at the 2 front corners that lock the mag in place on the bersa 9.

not 100% sure it would work flawlessly, but they are so so similiar that I would almost says they are a copy and then a slight mod made so they weren't a exact copy of a design. also the xd 9 mag is 16 rnds, and they have all the hholes in the back so you can tell precisely how many rounds you have between 6-16.
