Music City Tactical Shooters will be hosting a modified IDPA style match on 04/17/2010. Our assistant match director, Tom Snipes, has put together a pistol match that will be exciting and extremely challenging. I know all of you will enjoy the match. The stages have been placed on the website. There will be lots of steel, activators, and high round counts.

looks like a fun match. I told Tom Snipes I maybe able to make it there this weekend but my son has soccer matches this weekend.

I had a blast at the match I went to in March and I'm planning on being at this one...this stuff is just plain fun but also, I think, while not a substitute for real training, is a way to become familiar with your firearm and the mechanics of actually using it in somewhat "real world" ways rather than just standing in a lane and shooting downrange.

Robert,

Correct it is not training but it is a place where you can put more practical skills on the clock and see how you do. I very rarely go to a "commercial range" anymore.

Me either. Get too bored...and burn way too much ammo in the process. Although I have been itching to try the automated range up at Guns and Leather.

Wish I could go this weekend, the nerve of these kids thinking their dads will make it to a saturday soccer game when they could be honing their pistol skills...

Looks really fun, looked like none of the stages were limited, so with full mags, if at first you don't succeed, shoot and shoot again (so what if sometimes it takes 6rds for the "best 2 on paper"). I'd watch some John Woo movies to prepare if I could make it.

Next time.

Very good match today. Tom had some great stages that challenged everyone. Nice turnout and wonderful weather. Glad to see everyone there. Thanks to everyone who helped setup and tear down.
