I have a few questions. 1) Are we just meeting up on the line, shooting side by side and leaving? If I remember correctly, there isn't much "socializing" space free in Range USA. 2) How do we differentiate between TGO members and people that just happen to be at the range that day? For some of us (not so much myself) I can imagine it being hysterically awkward walking up to someone random and being like "Hey I'm <crazy TGO screen name>" followed by looks of "I must have missed the short bus in the parking lot before I came in." Please don't suggest name tags (see short bus reference above).

I'd say meet to the side in the lobby. The diner might be packed and you know how restaurant owners tend to get when you take up their space and don't eat. We also don't know which lanes will be occupied by the classes and it may be too hot to gather outside. I may just bring a white posterboard sign and tape it to the wall for all to see.

It's a shame we can't rent out the facility for a few hours. I wonder what an endeavor like that would run. What about one of the side ranges they use for classes? Would something like that even be feasible? I'm not trying to make people have to pay any more, but it sure would make things easier. If we had a promised number of people (number of dollars), then I don't see why they couldn't free a range up for us. If I remember, the one off to the left side of the building (where we shot for our HCP qualification) had about 15 lanes and was secluded from the rest of the building. Just thinking out loud (or through text I should say).

Range USA has a nice eating facility. We could all meet up there prior to going out on the lanes. Also they have meeting/class rooms. If no one will be using them we can all meet up in there and when a person arrives they can go to the front desk and ask "Where are the TGO people?"

Lets not over think this. Lets just get together shake some hands, sling some lead, and put a few faces with screen names.

I also agree that an outdoor event with a rifle range would be great. There is just one problem....We have no such venue in the area with a reasonable price. MSSA has a ridiculous initiation fee and our great county leaders closed up the rifle range at Shelby Farms, so here we are, nothing we can do about it.

I am looking forward to meeting and reconnecting with some of you folks.

I have gone to Range USA with my 5 yr old daughter a few times, never a problem. Aziroth, you might want to call back up there for confirmation.

Dana said $320. Don't know for how long. But there will be classes going on somewhere using lanes. They rely on some of us buying their ammo, so if we tie up the venue and don't shoot much (yeah, right!), they won't make much.

Mason, I hope that the shy ones will at least do that. Go to the desk and ask for TGO.

A while back a few friends scheduled a Self Defense class at RUSA. They require 10 or so minimum to reserve a class. We ended up with around 14 shooters. They gave us a $25 each break on the class. In hinesight, i should have suggested this. I had a brain fart. Maybe on our next meet we can schedule a class and eat lunch at the range. Whoever sets it up should talk to Kristen or Chip. Some classes require prerequisites classes. For example, the SD class has a requirement that you have the TCP class.

I agree, next should be an outdoor meet. Maybe a drive to Natchez Trace. Kinda far, but it is free. That is the only place i can think of.

Other places to schedule classes are Tactical Response in Camden or TGI in Marion, AR. It is a bit more expensive and they require some classes as prerequisites.

Taking a class together is actually a great idea! I can't believe I didn't think of that before. It's probably too short of notice to do that for this month now unless a group got together earlier in the day to take the class and then do the meet.

We had to reserve the class a couple of months in advance. That is because we wanted to keep it for us only to ensure the discount. I guess if we all signed up for the same date and class, it would be cool if we had some walk-ins.

The 24th meet will be good to meet each other. Once we get to know each other the class will be less awkward.

To take most of the upper level classes, RUSA require the permit class or equivalent as a prerequisite. Some could take the permit class together. When i took mine, there was a group of 6 taking the class together. They had a good time. A little friendly trash talking when the lady beat all the guys. lol. She beat my score to.

My 10 yr old and 14 yr old come with me to RangeUSA and shoot everything I own. Never a problem. They even did the full auto zombie shoot on Halloween.

Bah they lied to me, I also tried to take my friend on the zombie night and they turned us down. I guess it is in who you are or who you talk to, my sales manager is 56 has 3 daughters and the youngest he wanted to take shooting at RangeUSA she is 10, they tried to go not too long ago and I believe they turned them down as well. Oh well not upset just shocked that it is a family environment, this is definitely news to me but glad to know might take my daughter, if they will let me, haha.

yeah, maybe. I don't need to blow a bunch of ammo anyways. But at least we can put faces to the screen names.
