And you find that truly appealing, do you? It's awfully close to your basket.

I haven't seen any in years but when I was youngster, I remember going in old country stores and them having pickled pigs feet in jars on the counter. Never could figure out the appeal of pigs feet.

The stores here still have them....

I didn't know scrambled eggs were usually yellowish instead of grayish until I was about 9, 'cause the only ones I ever ate were in my grandma's kitchen, and she always mixed pig brains in with them.

my grandpa use to take me hunting for tree rats and he would skin them and keep the brains. yes for eggs the next morning. couldn't do it then or now.

Mentioned pig brains and eggs when I was a youngster in college. My buddy couldn't believe I'd tried it. Told him I had tried it, and I liked it. He said, "I'd NEVER eat something that came out of a pig's head."

I asked him if he knew where eggs came from. Think he swore off them, too.

I've heard there's nothing on a pig that wasn't table fair for some folk's....just not me!

I have never heard of pig brains and eggs, though I am not suprised. Talk about an immediate heart attack. I guess the only thing that could make it worse would be to scramble it all in with the bacon grease. That does sound kinda appealing talking about it. I might have to try that. Maybe throw some of this in for good measure.

I actually paid a pretty high price for them in a fancy "game" type restaurant in Atlanta many years ago, was actually the first ones I ever ate. Not sure how I avoided them before that, since I've eaten such other bizarre stuff, and certainly every OTHER part of the pig, from snout to intestine.

Your, and others', UGH comments make me wonder just how many folks would starve rather than eat something they've been culturally conditioned not to if we do have a meltdown.

Btw, I ate about half a chihuahua once upon a time in 1966, ironically, on a bus while traveling through the state of Chihuahua. So if push comes to shove, even though I'm a dog lover, I won't go completely hungry till the last of the strays are gone.

Best use of that particular yapper breed I know of, btw. ;)

I dunno about that.

Eat bologna, vienna sausage, some wieners, slim jims and the like?

I grew up on souse meat sandwiches, which certainly has all the eyeballs and arseholes, with most of the oink thrown in there too.

Wow.....never seen that before....

years ago in High School I worked in the meat department of a local small grocer. We had one customer, and older german lady who would order an entire pigs head from time to time, (once or twice a year). It would come from our meat supplier in a cake box. She made what is called " head cheese" out of it. Cincinnati is real big on different kinds of cold cuts, there must be twenty different varieties of cold cuts available there. All of it pork and/or beef based. One of the kinds we sold at the store was ready made Head Cheese. It was disgusting looking. I never tasted it but we sold a fair amount. You could just about identify the different parts of the pig that were in it just by looking at it. The butcher told me that the stuff was not bad, he ate it, but that it was an acquired taste.

We also sold kidneys, liver, hearts, toungues, and yes brains.

If push came to shove I'd have no problem eating whatever I need to.

Otherwise, my standard rule is meat = yum, organs = nothankyou.
