I've declared WAR on carpenter bees . . .

Why would I use a tennis racket, or a wiffle bat or anything else when I have a Smith & Wesson?

I don't want to kill them with a dollar wiffle bat -- I want to kill them with a $500 Smith. It's more elegant that way. :screwy:

Mark that down, next rifle purchase will be a.177. I dont think the neighbors will appreciate the 870 wingmaster going off every afternoon after work.

Gamo has those air rifle/shotgun combos. I wonder how the air propelled shot would do on those bees? I think some of those nicer air guns sound pretty cool but can't get past the fact that I could pick up another .22 rifle for less than one of those air rifles costs.

Got one today! It took two rounds of grits and a size 11 Sperry Topsider to finish him off.

PS - I didn't use a Smith - used my 40 year old Taurus clone of a S&W Model 10. He's just as dead, but I didn't get $500 worth of satisfaction.

Got one yesterday from about a 6 inch range. He was hovering near the railing and I got behind him. DRT.

I need to load more rounds -- I made a dozen to start with and I'm down to one now. I think I'll try walnut tumbling media instead of grits the next time - try to get a little more weight/energy in the charge.

Been killing 2 or 3 a day. More show up. Do they have hives or nests in the wood. Them suckers just won't go away.
