I've seen this before. The thing that really caught my attention was the sound absorbing tubes. Looks like they're lined with 2" Sonex. I'm betting they eat most of the sound from the muzzle blast.

The US has nothing on these folks. It would be tough to invade Tennessee. New Jersey... not so tough

But did you catch the news 1 or 2 weeks ago? Two Swiss casinos were knocked off with no resistance. Guess they have a dimwitted policy about not carrying around liquor.

They may have a lot of dimwitted policies about carry. The video didn't cover any of that

Gun politics in Switzerland - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

According to the Wiki, they are pretty restrictive in regards to carry, you have to be able to provide a compelling reason to have a carry permit. It also appears that they have their own trouble with the anti's wanting to restrict ownership rights along with their politicians selling them out with international treaties.

Kinda reminds me of New York.

#1 statement: "The key to freedom is the ability to defend yourself". Gawd I love the Swiss....:tinfoil:

Health insurance is compulsory there.

OS, the health insurance is a government option only there... unclear how well it works.

FYI: I have read from sources several of the Founding Fathers were looking to a similar concept the Swiss have with the 2nd A. The idea was all able bodied males would be trained and given a rifle. Imagine how it would be here had this been enacted...

Basic insurance is not an option. It's compulsory. Mandatory. Required.

For anyone in residence within 3 months.

It's offered by private insurance companies, whose rates may vary, but the plans are identical in coverage. Cannot be denied coverage at same rate as anyone else for same age group, regardless of health.

If it costs over 8% of income, the gov pays the rest.

Additional coverage can be purchased with same type of risk based differences in premiums as here.

Must work pretty well, as Switzerland is considered a tax haven compared to rest of Scandinavia, if not all of Europe.

While you are correct that Switzerland isn't a Scandinavian country OhShoot is correct that it is widely viewed as a tax haven. Which perhaps also explains why no one invades Switzerland, all their money is there.

As for the Swiss health care system, I couldn't say. What works for one country doesn't always work for another. The same goes for their gun laws.

Mosi is trying to reach us subliminally. But I decoded his method.

"Will work for guns!"

I will not resist.

Doh, correct.

Somehow mentally put it in Sweden's area from time to time, always have for some reason.

Mea culpa.

Health system info basically correct though.

I thought it interesting that a country that practically requires you own a gun also requires you to have health insurance.

So we've got half of that going for us.

I thought I knew where Switzerland was! But, it can't be Europe. They must have moved it to the Rockys or the Appellations.
