Has anybody had any experience with this rifle? Comparisons to Bushmaster, DPMS, Stag etc. Varmint version with 24" bull barrel welcomed. Any feedback appreciated.

The first reviews were not great. the weapon is not chambered for the nato 5.56 like the standard ar-15. It's chambered for .223, making it available to be sold at Dick's sporting goods. they dont carry any "assault weapons" so remington dedicated the rifle for hunting only. They also have the .308 version and is the same way. If you want a good varmit gun. The RRA Coyote 20" is what i shoot and 300 w/55gr anything is lethal. I have built 16", 18", 24" uppers and probably used any ar-15 related company out there and the 20" is the most practical. My sister has the 16" coyote and at 300 it groups 4" w/Her and i group constant 3" 300M w mine. If you are looking for a varmint i would recommend building one the way you want. 24" go w 1/8 twist allowing a larger gr bullet 3 rotations when leaves the barrel. Now my Sabre 18" 1/7 with 75 gr hornandy BTHP allowed my sister at 250 yrds to kill her first buck this past season and he went about 5 steps. My point is decide on what you like, and the average shot you will be taking. a Bushmaster PAtrolman 16" will be just as effective as a 24" except you wont pass out on the way to the woods bc your weapon wont weigh 15 lbs. The hardest thing about a varmit gun is deciding on a sling.

That s my personal opinion, love it or hate it
