There will be much resistance until the public sees this everyday. After that, it will still be too much too much.

If it caught the rapist who attacked your daughter, who was flying under the radar using a fake ID... would you be upset?

Probably not on that one. Nor if they found the dudes that stole my truck!

As with most things like this, I don't see the big deal unless they are collecting your fingerprint and you've never been fingerprinted before. If they are just temporarily using it as a comparison tool, no big deal.

Anyone in Tennessee who has a HCP has already been fingerprinted and it is on file with the State.

I've been fingerprinted numerous times in my life. None for criminal reasons. This really doesn't bother me.

Like above, unless you are breaking the law (or have) I really don't see much of a problem with this. On a unrelated topic, Milwaukee is one of the most socialist cities there is. A little bit of trivia: One mayor back in the 60's ran on a "socialist" (not Dem or Rep) ticket.

That really doesn't bother me. The Army finger printed me and everybody after that.

If you want to get paranoid, think about those little courtesy cards that you use at the grocery store, the pharmacy, and everywhere else.

I've got a Kroger card, an Ingles card, Food City, Food Lion, CVS..and on and on. Bet you have some of them too. So, everything you purchase is going into a data base somewhere. Think that data bases might share information?

Develop a sudden penchant for middle eastern food in large quantities and see if there's an unexpected knock at your door.

Paranoia keeps you safe.

This is BIG BROTHER for sure & anyone that thinks that their finger print wont be kept has their head in the sand. Government is out of control especially with the current dictatorship & next comes implant chips so they can Track us.

I'm just kidding on this post of course. If you look at the Christmas airplane bombing attempt and the latest Pentagon shooting, apparently we are so inept that we can't stop bad guys even if their parents call us and warn us ahead of time.

Already gave them my finger prints so I could carry a GUN. It didn't bother me.

Ok, so they got your fingerprint (which they already do since you appear to have a HCP), so what? Do you plan on committing murder? Rape? Armed robbery? Any other felonies?.... Oh you don't?.... Well... I fail to see how this is any deal, big or small, whatsoever. I've had my fingerprint taken by the federal gov't a few times, by the state government of a couple different states a few times, and one or two times locally (again nothing criminal). Do I worry about what they plan on doing with my fingerprint? Nope because I don't plan on committing any crimes. So really it's a moot point.

I don't necessarily have a prob with a national ID card, myself, even one with fingerprints on it, IF it were only used FOR ID.

Of course, the prob is how do you ensure that the card doesn't become an information transmitter to a database with a complete inventory of everything you do in life, from shopping lists, financial transaction record, GPS locater, etc.

Then again, gee whiz, as long as you aren't doing anything illegal, what's the harm, eh?

I saw a thing on new credit card technology tonight one guy had his credit card attached to his cell phone. That would in reality:

1.information transmitter to a database

2.a complete inventory of everything you do in life,

3.from shopping lists, financial transaction record, GPS locater, etc.

4.and with a smart phone every internet board you post on or search you do, log in on your smart phone with your user and passes from your computer.

And everyone will love having one.

Best thing to do is embrace it all I suppose. :hiding:

No I don't plan on doing anything illegal especially since I have a conscience but I am very against more government oversight especially when they lie as they always do & say it wont be used for anything else.

You have your opinion & I have mine so we will agree to disagree.

My parents had me printed at a health fair when I was 13 or so. I understand why, but I had a problem with until I got HCP'd.

When you consider smoking bans in restaurants, requirements for

elimination of trans fats, taxing run off water, camera and radar on intersections and however many else others can think of, Yes, it another intrusion into my privacy. I thought you had to be arrested for a cop to fingerprint you, that is under duress. He stops you for a traffic violation and gets a fingerprint, that's not okay.

If that is okay with some that's fine, but consider how many more you are willing to give up before it is too late.

I have been printed before, it's no big deal. A few jobs I have had as well as HCP printed me, yawn.

Bigger crap to worry about than this.

whoa, I am a tin foil hatter of the first order but even I do not think the man can pull that one off.

They're going to to start embedding them at birth when they circumcise the male children. Female children won't be bothered with because soon the government will repeal women's right to vote.

I don't mind stuff like this.....doesn't really matter to me they might catch me picking my nose or something. There is nothing in the constitution that protects us in public from being "watched".
