And as a bonus, I think you can carry the slingshot and rocks where alcohol is served. :P

I generally take my alcohol on the rocks.

And just carry your own rocks with you, huh? :P

The largest caliber I've been shot with to date is .22LR ... want to carry that too?

If I had the choice between carrying a .380ACP or a similarly sized 9mm, I'd carry the 9mm. If 9mm is too stout for you, I have a slingshot and some rocks you can borrow.

A .22lr is a effective round. And is accurate one too. It is often overlooked for personal use.

We always have a choice as to what we can use. Is bigger better?

I don't concern myself with bigger, I concern myself with better. Better is usually most adequately expressed in terms of ballistic performance. The 9mm is typically better than the .380 in that regard.

If you are looking for something to use in the apartment why not something in a .410 like the judge, or a shotgun. That's like 5 .380 bullets at once. a 12 gauge is even better. They even make a small .410 darringer.

Just throwing that out there.

It's not a bad suggestion. I've thought of that also. I'd probably stay away from the derringer and just go with a pump shotgun with a pistol grip.

ok, is dead by 380 ok, or is dead by 9mm better. or is dead by 22lr the best.

Or is dead just dead.

Dead before they can do you any harm is better. If you're pulling that off with a 22LR then more power to you. :D

In an apartment I would go with a 12 or 20 gauge, #6 or #7 shot. If you can't hear your neighbors very well through the wall sound deading material should stop the small shot. A couple of charges of that to the upper body and face will ruin anybodies evening.
