Well, its the start of a new season and it would appear, that most of the state enjoyed temps in and around 70 degrees, here on the west side of the state, sun, sun and more sun. Rain moving in tonight.

So what was on your "To Do" list and what did you get done?

Me:

Coached son in Basketball game, lost, but good game

Easter Egg Hunt at a friends house for the kids.

Took freedom tops off the Jeep

WalMart: Oil, Oil filter, Sta-bil (will tell the story in a minute), Burger meat, buns, Tater-tots

Got home Changed oil, oil filter, in Jeep, put sta-bil in mower and 5 gal gas tank that is full from October/November

Took old oil to Oreilies, bought spark plug for mower, load of stuff to Goodwill

Went for a mile and a half run (2nd time I have run since Dec 5 Half Marathon due to injury. Pain finally went away 2 weeks ago, a little sore, and tender in the area, but all in all, good to go.

Installed spark plug, took out air filter, beat it against swing set to knock dirt out, reinstalled. Pulled 10 or 12 times, about to get up, she cranks!

Mow and suck up final bit of leaves in front yard with mower

Cook burgers on the grill, eat, have a beer.

Shower

Smiling ear to ear for such a productive day!!! Kids have been great, wife great, I've been great.

Ok here is the story on the mower. Three weeks ago, filled with that gas I mentioned from last season, almost full 5 gall tank. Ran for 10 minutes, killed motor on monkey grass, wouldn't start again. Looked at oil, very low, yes I forgot to check it before I started. Put oil in it at that time. Could get it to start for a few seconds at a time, but wouldn't stay started. Fast forward until today, sta-bil (fuel), new spark plug (fire), and beat dust out of air filter (air), which provided the three elements for a motor to run, fuel, fire and air. It ran great today!

So, what ya'll been up to on this glorious spring day?

Spent all day in the turkey woods with my 7 year-old son. Surrounded by birds just barely out of gun-range. Love chasin' those thunderchickens.

Finally not on call, so my phone was relatively quiet. So...all in all a great day.

I would rather sit in a pile of leaves all day with an antsy kid chasing those turkeys, than eat when I'm hungry.

Took advantage of Krazy Joe's Kost Kutting Party (Kimber sale) at Hero-Gear. Walked out with a Ultra Crimson Carry II.

The wife and I went to a home and garden show in Manchester then came home and got the new 'toy' ready for some range work later in the week.

Watching the original 1968 version of "Night of the Living Dead" (ZOMBIES!) on RTN.

The flat tractor tire that I had fixed earlier this week was flat, so I dealt with that. Then I took the truck into town and picked up about 3,000 pounds of dirt for the garden. Got home, too wet to get the truck to the garden. Shoveled dirt into a wheelbarrow, made several trips to garden.

Planted onions, asparagus, and turnips. Hope to get broccoli out next week.

Almost the same thing as OP.

Needed to mow before it got thick. Checked oil (zing), good, new gas, good, cranked it till battery got tired. Put battery on charger, run to NAPA, get new spark plugs (x2), swapped plugs, shot of starter fluid, shazamm!

4.5 hours later and one burn pile of brush later, back and portion of front are mowed. Watched the last half of UK go down to WV. Would have liked to see the Cats and Vols square off for a National Championship. Guess it's all up to our Vols now as the lone SEC reps.

Now watching re-runs of Deadliest Catch and looking at a Mosin and NEF shotgun that need to go.

For me, the weather was PERFECT.

I actually had plans for a day on the motorcycle, but after a friend invited us out for the day, I was quickly outnumbered.

-Nashville's Farmers Market

-Flea Market at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds

-Trader Joe's

-Whole Foods

-Friends house for a cook-out

Probably not as enjoyable as a day on the motorcycle, but a great day, nevertheless.

I had to work all day. :) After work I had to meet one of my friends to pick up a set of KAC rails for a AR. Then came home and put the rails on. Messed around in the yard for a while. Then grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. Now just cruising the gun forums. Going to go to the gun show tommrow in M'boro. Its great to be alive and well in TN.

spent the entire day, mostly (8:30 until sometime after 4:00), at the range sending a lot of bullets downrange....

Yeppers, I joined Mike, Garufa, and Erik88 in that endeavor today.

Although I didn't show till about 10:30.

Bonus: Mike and uxor fed me supper! Thanks again!

My "weekend" started on Wed. Drove for 10 hrs, worked my butt off on Thursday, Friday I finished the job (at least as much as I could) got up yesterday morn and drove back. Dang I'm getting too old for these long road trips, but as long as the money is good I guess I'll keep going.

Spent the day with my boy, who just got home from the Middle East. Then he took me out and treated me to a steak. Life is good. Glad to have him back in the states.

This is what we did this weekend. The boy's first "bigun" as he calls it.. Darn nice fish that put ol' Dad to shame.

I would like to add that this spot weighed in at 5.2. State record is 5.14. Not bad at all.

So, you didn't take it by TWRA or something to try and establish new record?
