Anyone had this feeling?

Today I had decided to take my newly acquired Springer 1911 to the range and shoot it. So I get up this morning, put the belt and holster on a clean pair of pants, go do several things before puttering off to the range. My normal EDC is a Springfield XD9sc and I was prepared to test some new JHP reloads in the 9mm flavor. So's I get to the range, throw about 50 rounds thru the 1911, put my target for the 9mm, reached to take my 9mm out of the holster and it was not there! I had the most empty feeling in my gut I had to take a minute and sit down, and do some quick thinking as to what could have possibly happened. As it were, I usually store the subbie in another room during the night, and I had simply forgotten to holster it that morning prior to leaving the house. BUT, I can not relay to you that feeling in the pit of my stomach......I know I must have turned three shades of pale!!!! So the moral is: Double check your holster before leaving the house to make sure you EDC is in it......

My EDC rarely leaves the holster unless being cleaned or shot. But, I go places where I can't carry, and It's a strange feeling not having it.

I will admit to leaving the ammo at home, once. Embarrassing enough:D

Get to the range with what's in the mags is a short time at the range.

I will admit to taking the ammo but forgetting the mags once. Single shot XD's are much more accurate you know!

I was out once, while I had my XD-9 in my holster, it wasn't loaded.

Never walked out with a holster and no pistol, nor have I walked out with a single-shot 1911 . . . though I came very close to that.

At the range a few weeks ago, my girlfriend Alicia and I got carried away. I went through the old hollowpoint ammo first, then we started shooting the 230gr ball stuff.

We stopped when we remembered I hadn't bought any more HP ammo, so I was walking around with all of 3 rounds of 230gr ball the rest of Sat night and Sunday til I got to the shop Monday morning.
