getting around to it

We've been promising ourselves for 12 years that we would get together some time. The sale of his 700 in GB to WildBill not only occasioned the opportunity to meet up again and do some shooting, but meet his kids (3 of them since we toasted my brother's wedding). According to my calculations spring is sprung just a few hundred miles east of here. Delivered the gun to Bill Tuesday night and had a wonderful dinner.

As some of you recall, I posted his gun listing here and offered to pick it up and deliver it to any TGO member who purchased it. Just the excuse we needed for a get together.

Cool! The TGO members I've met here so far are very nice people. I want them on my side when TSHTF.

Thats kind of a confusing post...not really sure who met who, but glad that you got to get together again!

Glen mentioned the Gun Broker ad on TGO. He said if a TGO member bought it, he would pick up and deliver.

Wanting to help his friend out, I placed a couple of bids to raise the price for his friend.

Surprise! Surprise! I won the auction.

Made contact with the seller, sent the money, and waited on Glen to go visit for the weekend and bring back a BEAUTIFUL Rem. 700, .308 tricked out to Navy SEAL specs w/1.5 lb. trigger and a Pelican 1750 case (weighs more than the rifle).

Met Glen Tues. evening for the swap and dinner. Planned to go to the range today, but the weatherman didn't cooperate. Going to try again Friday.

I would love to shoot that rifle. If you ever make it to Owl Hollow (Charlie Haffner's range in Spring Hill), I'll buy you lunch if I can have a go.
