I thought i heard somewhere that ak's don't feed HP's very well, curious if that is true??? I don't have very many hp's and i want to shoot of my fmj 1st before making any more orders.

I've never had any problems out of my arsenal saiga, and I have a friend that shoots predominantly hps out of his bulgy just because their fun to shoot trash with. Of course (and this is a generalization based on my limited ak experience) I've never seen an ak that didn't cycle reliably.

Very true! AK's were never designed for HP's or SP's actually neither were any older Mil guns or pistols!

However most will handle any ammo, usually Wasr's have the most problems!

Have shot thousands of HP rounds thru a number of diffrent AK's and never had a problem. A buddy brought me some ak ammo that he found in a plastic bag that had wintered out doors. Cold, wet, snow and sitting in ice and water for 3 + months. Ammo was in sad, very sad shape. Rusted, corroded and dirty -- very dirty. (did not clean it up, did wipe some of the looser dirt off) Loaded it in my beater AK and BANG!!!! BANG!!! BANG!!! it ALL shot. 155 rounds and narry a misfire. AK's will eat anything.

now that is cool and impressive, made me feel good about my norinco mak purchase.

maybe someone would wantto trade som e hp's for my fmj ammo.

what kinda damage differences can I expect with hp vs fmj?? the only thing I have ever shot with my 20 pack hp's was trees and big exit holes on large privet hedge trees:tough:
