Man, I dunno but for the last week or so I keep thinking about getting that exact gun. Para is pretty well respected form all I gather and the GI Expert looks to have a few add on features.

I want the Stainless Steel Model though. It looks so beautiful.

Humm the black one is about $80 less and I'm liking it as well. I need a new 1911 also and this one is tip top of the list.

Thanks for posting that review Shima.

Haven't shot one yet, but have spent alot of time holding them and reading up on them. I have seen them around for 510-530. By all accounts it is a fantastic bare bones 1911 for that price. They have been out for awhile and I have yet to hear any horror stories.

I have owned 2 paras. Both were good guns but the 2nd I wanted to get night sites. Para uses a proprietary dovetail cut on the slides so they are the only one you can get the night sites from. They will install them and ship your slide back for $100 but after them having my slide for 3 months I asked them to return it and it took them an additional month to do that. I sold the gun after that.

As long as you dont need the CS it is a good gun but if you need service you may be in some trouble.

I just bought the stainless version. It's been great so far about 250 rounds. (I would shoot more but having a problem finding ammo I want to pay for) I have had 1 FTF but that was with defense ammo on the second mag thru the gun, It feeds ball fine. I am very impressed so far!

My thanks also to the original poster. I had missed this gun and have a new goal. I had an early P14 and still have an early P12. I have also owned a Colt Commander and an early Kimber. The Kimber was stolen.:D Due to a business collapse a few years ago I had to sell the P14 and the Commander. Now I can save my shekels till I find one.
