east TN tribe shoot em up

I would say it is about time for a shoot. It has been a while since we have had a big get together.

We need a place and a date.

Anyone know a good spot ( private property maybe) a lot of people can shoot? Anyone interested in hosting?

If anyone has suggestions toss them out here and lets banter them about.

Mark, any thoughts on when the waters may recede?

When I started this thread I had April or May in mind to leave ample time for people to make plans on attending.

Late May would give me time to get it cleaned up a bit, build new target stands and so forth. Think I'd like to get a little creative, maybe come up with pop ups or reactive targets, something different, anyway. Been many years since I shot IDPA, might be fun to build a stage or two.

All contributions gratefully accepted, of course. Ideas, labor, good blonde jokes... :D

Mark, do you have a date when you will be home?

I would be willing to help in any way I could. Weed eating, hammering, whatever.

I am interested too, I have 3 mosins and a mak-90 that need some range time. oh and I have a truck tailgate that we can perforate some holes into

I'd love to shoot at Mark's again, plus, I've increased my inventory quite a bit since the last shoot there. I actually have two metal frame semi-autos now.

We will firm up a date in the next week or two.

Maybe it will warm up around here one of these weeks

I am willing and able to get Mark's range ready(not including reactive targets)....if Mark gives the OK.

If so...any help would be appreciated...but not necessary.

More than okay! Sue was down there today, says its a mess. :ugh:

Just give her a call.

No guarantee, but I hope to make it home next weekend.

I'm always willing to help "clear" the range as well....

Of course with me on 3rd shift, it may impossible to meet at the suggested time to help in cleanning or de-bushing.....

I'd be interested in getting together and meeting some of you guys as well if I can. I'd be willing to help clear the range or whatever else you need too, but I'd probably only be able to help out on Sundays. Unfortunately, I work out of state all week and it looks like most Saturdays now too.

that I will be home in time to help with the range as well!

My wife has decided that she loves Tn. more than Kentucky so after 2 years of traveling around and living in purgatory (Ky.) I'm moving home!! wooot!!

*does the snoopy dance*

As such, I intend to look for a local job and try to pick up various quick tower jobs around the house.

I'm in if this is a camp out shoot thingie.

Shooters always welcome to camp. It will take at least one and probably two weekends of range cleanup / repair beforehand, though. The winter was not kind...

First thing needed is trash removal, including some downed trees. Then I'm getting a few loads of dirt and renting a backhoe. Finally, new target stands need built.

You'll have to be patient. :D

Sounds great; two of my favorite things shooting and camping...but promise me...no naked sweat lodges or Amway sales ???

I'd love to come, however, I haven't camped since my boy scout days (several years ago although not that many ), any cheap hotels/motels/inns around? I don't want to bunk with Suntzu, he scares me.....
