I know about the B.S. 5 round limits the poor Canadian neighbors have...seems like any country originating or affiliated with Great Britain has ####ty gun laws. The thing is, I would have to choose between an M1 or the SVT because they are both in the same price range. I would pick the M1 first just because I need an American gun to add to my collection.

this thread got me pumped about going, so today I took the mauser. Put up 2 shoot & sees, the 5 or 6 inch circle ones with an x in the middle at 100 yards. 19 shots (wife took #20), 13 hits. Not bad for me, I am poorish with iron sights. Today was very nice, it tried to rain a little as we packed up but we trusted our luck and it was beautiful. Everyone else must have been doing yardwork, we had the range to ourselves.... hope some of you at least got a chance to shoot today in equally great weather.

Took my M1 and Springfield 1903A3 out for some exercise Sunday afternoon...musta been something in the East Tennessee air, cause I had the same experience as Jonnin - only person at the rifle range was leaving as I arrived. Ran through about 50 rounds in each gun, shooting 50, 100 and 200 yd targets. I could live that that....

I love shootin' my Garand, even if just out to burn powder. It is a blast and always turns head at the range, specially when it ejects the clip!

I've not shot any of my rifles in a while because of work and the heat. I miss it.......

Took the Garand and Mosin out to Cheatham WMA on the 4th, along with just about everything else in my safe. Bought a Dillon 550 primarily to feed the Garand.
