The people that I know are running are Robin Smith, Tim Gobble, and Chuck Fleishmann. What are your thoughts on them? I am leaning toward Fleishmann. I have met and talked with him at length and he seems Really good. He said he stands by the 2A and thinks the opt out clause is wrong, Guns in Restaurants is a good thing, and hates all of this washington crap going on. I don't know much of the others. I would like to know what Ya'll think.

At this point I would go for anyone that would honor the oath they take, but will back it up by the blood he or she is willing to lose if they dishonor that oath.

If the opposite of pro is con, what's the opposite of progress?

Depends on whom is looking at what progress is.. for me the opposite would be "Socialism".

Depends on how you use the words. Progressivism=Socialism or communism.

Used as a misnomer to corrupt a political party. Depends on what you call progress and who is using and for what means.

"Liberal" was corrupted in the same way. There are still decent "Liberals" out there,

somewhere, I hope.

Those are not in my district but I do hope a GOP candidate wins. In the U.S. House race I hope every dem that's running loses and I really don't care this time who beats them. The dems need to lose majority in the House simply to block any and all legislation the Obama Administration tries to push through. We need a complete legislative stagnation with absolutly nothing passed until 2012. Unfortunatly the damage done to the country and the damage they will do before the election may be irreversable. What makes them even more dangerous now is that the Reps that know they are gone in November will vote anyway Pelosie pulls their string.

Anybody want to make any bets that they wont try some sort of gun control legislation now?

It's right around the corner. No bet needed

It's time to flush all of the Marxist crap out of Congress!

Enough is Enough!

Micky Mouse can do a better job than the Who*e in charge.

A bunch of normal American citizens will do a better job then these Commiecrats!

In November pull the lever and flush the crap out of our Capital.

I kept hearing, the Pubs and the Dems are all the same and I believed that to a degree but lately, the Dems are showing their true colors. There's always been the far left socialists but the ones who claimed to be in the center are showing what cowards and puppets they are to the will of the socialist sect. Believe me i've been disappointed more than once by the GOP but the Bush administration and the GOP congress were far better and safer to the very foundation of America than the catasrophe we have now. I couldn't imagine the very destruction of the Constitution and American way of life in 4 short years, into some mutated euro-socialist republic.

Get ready for it, since Barrak Capone and Botox Face Pelosie bought and bullied their little butt puppets into passing one of the most Un-American peices of legislation in history, they have become more embolden to push a slew of socialist legislation through Congress.

But there are so many who don't like the Republicans

anymore. That's what causes more of the same.

Complacency

Cynicism

Apathy

Umm...you live in what was founded as a Republic, if that's what you mean.

Two pages and I don't think anybody read past the thread title :\

To answer your question Arch, I used to do some business with the Gobble family.

As far as 'everyday people' is concerned, they are about as everyday as you will get.

I would vote for him based on the few non-political interactions I've had with them.

I would also vote for him based on his dealings within the Sheriffs Dept.

The other two you mentioned would not get a vote from me.

One is an attorney.

The other a loud mouth. I would be too afraid that she would be more concerned about runing her mouth against Dems then she would actually work.

Rep or Dem, we need bipartisanship to get things accomplished.

I doubt she could do that with all the bickering...

There is a great blessing in all three of these candidates. They all appear to be very conservative; and they are all newcomers. Always a great thing. This is a tough choice; but i like Robin Smith. She has plenty of backbone and plenty of experience from doing the Tennessee Republican Party Chairman (...On August 4, 2007, the State Executive Committee of the Tennessee Republican Party unanimously elected Robin Chairman of the state party... .-- this is no small accomplishment in my opinion) thing.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

Leroy

Actually strickj, the Democrats proved this term that they don't need bipartisanship. They have accomplished a lot in some eyes.

In case you haven't noticed, they haven't utilized a single vote this time from the loyal opposition, for obvious reasons. That should be considered, also. Personal interactions should always weigh in the consideration, but look at how the pro-life Stupak

proved there is no such thing as a pro-life Democrat. I think that should weigh on a larger scale.

IMHO it's not complacency; it's lack of choice. Look at the posts here on this forum. The vast majority of Americans are in the center, yet the majority of people on here think in terms of absolute right without compromise, and many of those are based on only one or two main issues, (abortions or 2A for example). This country should be run by the consensus of the majority; not the minority. Given two choices that do not reflect your views you either are forced to "vote for the lessor of two evils" or apathy. Most voters choose apathy, (according to statistics), but the rest swing between left and right giving us idiots such as Obama. How about standing behind the Democrats who voted against this legislation? What about standing behind the people who are most likely to be elected rather than standing by the most polarizing figure? Oh, how I wish the silent majority would stand-up and shout as one!

i agree with you about that lack of choice. I also think an educated

or interested voter makes a difference. People who don't take their vote seriously give us the Obamas, also. That lesser of two evils voter that stayed at home would have made the difference with Obama's ACORN troopers. It too bad they chose apathy, don'tyou think? I wish the same thing. The last that happened,

i think was Ronald Reagan, wasn't it?

Almost always it's the choice between the lesser of two evils but after seeing what the far left is capable of and the power they have I consider this day and age to be a national emergency. I hope I like all the candidates I will vote for but if I have to I will choose quantity over quality just to do my little part in overturning the Dem majority in the House. I've held my nose and voted many times, the last time was for McCain but I was suspicious of the alternative then. Looks like us tin foil hatters were right after all.
