The animal hospital, the grocery store, the alignment shop ...?

As in the pharmacy? The cloverleaf shopping center is on Summer Ave, not the safest place to be. There are much worse areas though.

I live a mile from there, on the other (good) side of White Station/Sam Cooper.

It is not great, but not that bad, especially during the day. The three spots you have to worry about at night is the La Stampeda bar/club that is across the street (white station) from the shopping center, it is a Mexican bar and there was a shooting there a week or two ago around 2am (first time that has happened that close.) The 2nd is the strip club at White Station and Summer, the Gold Club, usaully no problems beyond a fight, a drunk, or drug bust. 3rd is the Jacks BBQ and Rib Shack, big restaurant has a pool bar attached, not sure if it is the same place or just in the same building. But there are some fights and drunks there from time to time.

The grocery store is fine, good people own it, we go there for items from time to time. I don't have any problem with my wife going there during the day or early evening.

You have been told about the street to street thing, well this is kind of like that. As far as living, I would live not on that side of Sam Cooper, you cross over Sam Cooper on White Station going south, and it is a whole different type N'hood, the further south you go along White Station, the better, and more expensive it gets.

One last thought, Summer and Sam Cooper is kinda of like a buffer zone. North, you don't want to be in, south you would be fine living in, if you can afford it. Summer it mixes. The further West you go on Summer, the worst it gets.

You will be fine, I would work there without any problem. You have many fast food places along summer, that I have no problem going to during the day. The Exxon at White Station and Summer is fine, cops are in and out of that thing all the time, for coffee and snacks, not crime. The firestone right down the road are good people. Pancho's is a mexican restaurant in Cloverleaf, good food, good cheese dip. They sell it in the local grocery stores.

This is for ALL of my homies, new and old. Plug in your street address and "Memphis" to get the local crimes. It's set at .5 miles that can be adjusted.

Bartlett Road there are some apartments, that are the majority of those.

On the Crime Tracker I saw an Aggrevated Assault on White Station, that is at that La Stampeda bar as well, I thought there were two incidents lately, couldn't remember.

You have three grocery stores, several small retail stores, a Northern tool right in that area, lots of shop lifting goes on there. Summer is all commercial/retail.

Here's a good source.

You can zoom down on the map, change the time line to see what's been going on.

It's not the greatest place...and I wouldn't wander around there at night...but daytime is ok. What DB is saying is all true and he is probably from here...I'm a transplant from Little Rock and dont live in Memphis city limits...I live in another city east of Memphis. You'll be somewhat close to some good gunshops. There's one on Highland and Poplar and also Guns and Ammo on Summer...Guns and Ammo has a big selection of just about everything. Kind of fun to go there and just look around. I was amazed to see a gun store with so many different handguns when I first came here.

Been here, in this area for 15 years.

There is a Phils gun shop up near Summer and Mendenhall. Don't waste your time, I went in looking around, was interested in a used metal 30 round 5.56 magazine, he wanted somewhere around $35 to $40 bucks for it. However, Charlie's Meat Market is in the same little strip center, great place to get meat. Way better than any of the local grocery stores.

What you going to be doing at Suntrust?

Except that you should go to G & A on any other day than Saturday to get a real look at the handguns.
