So the other 1911 tread (Best 1911 for under $1500) got me thinking. What would be the Best Railed 1911 for let's say under $1700. The ones that pop to my my head are, Springfield TRP Operator, MC Operator, Kimber TLE/RL, Sig GSR ( though some would say these 2 are not ture 1911's) let us have your input.

The Springfield TRP Operator with the full length rail is bad ass. ;) And they shoot as good as they look. Would be a easy decision for me.

I'm partial to Colts and so would look at their new Series 80 "Rail Gun".

Colts are cool, but i believe they are over priced, plus they are 80 series, and Springers are 70 series. Yeah been wanting the TRP Operator, but damn that front checkering, and they are somewhat hard to find used ;) yeah I know I am cheap

Does any other Brands come to mind?

I would check one of these out,

At $1200.00 they are a bargain and several people have been very happy with them, Hell I think I just talked myself into buying one, I hate when that happens

The Double Star 1911's are very nice guns. I know the guy who builds every one of them. They are all hand fitted. The only problem they have is that they dont have the name recognition that Wilson and Brown have. If you are at the Nashville gun show at the Fairgrounds go to the Double Star/ J&T Distributing table and talk to Gary. He is the one who builds them. I have handled his personal gun and it is sweet. He might let you take a look at it if you tell him you are intrested in one.

Yea if you are going to be at the show this Sunday I'll introduce you to him and his gun. If not then I'll just shoot him an email and tell him you want to see one of their 1911's somtime.

My vote goes to the Kimber Warrior and the Springfield MC Operator. Both are steel frame and both have the more traditional "half rail" on them. Finding holsters for railed 1911's is hard enough (but becoming easier), but finding them for full-rail 1911's is almost impossible.

umm, excuse my ignorance but what is the "MC" Operator from Springfield? I see the Operator and the TRP but dont know what the "MC" Operator is?

The Green (OD) with rail, and pac. grips, i guess they also come in black???? also known as Operator, I don't like them bacause i have seen one take about 8 trips back to springfield for repairs. and i have seen a TRP go through the same crap and still run like a champ.

SPRINGFIELD ARMORY

Correction: The MC Operator comes with OD frame and Black Slide. The picture threw me off a bit.
