i know this is a gun forum, but this seriously has me so excited. a year ago i blew up the motor in my IS300 and decided to have the motor and tranny pulled and a complete buildup of it done. had the bottom end beefed up and the head sent off for cams, valves, springs, and retainers as well as getting a port and polish. the tranny was beefed up since we had it pulled. while i was at it did a wire tuck, all new intake manifold, added a turbo, alcohol injection, all new brake and fuel setup as well. aiming for 500 at the rear wheels although it is built to handle 900-1000. btw this isnt your grandmas lexus LOL

Know the feeling, I have dozen of high dollar paper weights from old motors. I'm a NHRA, drag race, musclecar guy but can appreciate anything w/ HP

500 HP at the wheels is getting to the point where you really need to be a good driver. Get the feel of the car in all kind of situations before you go nuts. I have see a lot of cars crashed over the years as a result of too much HP and not enoufh driver.

Enjoy!

I have a video of a buddy crashing his car (I was taping) while riding shotgun. He was at the top of 2nd (around 70 MPH) when it got away from him. He did not have slicks on and had radials just having fun. Well...........until he crashed. It was a '70 442. Worth big bucks today!

This was 24-25 years ago w/ those big giant VHS recorders the size of a bread basket. I need to covert that to an MPEG sometime.

Nicely done! You know, I run another forum you might like... Tennesspeed.net

dont suppose you have a place on there for 2wd trucks do you?

for an example of what I am talking about see PerformanceTrucks.net Forums - Powered by vBulletin, I dont go there much anymore purely because the original owner(s) also owned LS1tech.com and sold out to a corporation and then google ads came in and I dont care for it anymore.

VERY NICELY done...but given recent developments involving TOYOTA...have you upgraded the gas/throttle linkage/computer chip...and brakes? wouldn't that baby to stick at WOT....

Sweet car I have always liked the Lexus IS300 I can remember back before all the fast and furious bull**** a guy down the road bought one and it had a full stainless exhaust and lots of machine work no turbo and it would scream! I watched it make fools out of alot of late 80's and early 90's camaros and firebirds.

I have a tacoma with a 3rz fe 2.7 and when I get another vehicle and don't have to drive it everyday I want to put a LC engineering turbo kit and head with their cams in it. I found a video they shot of the motor I want to build in an older toyota truck. If you read the specs 463hp at 18psi hows that for 2.7L of toyota performance.
