I got a question.

If I bought a gun from somebody on the street, or was given a gun, traded a gun, whatever..

is there a way for me to find out if the gun is "clean" (not stolen, used in a mass murder), stuff like that...?

Any help you can give would be appreciated...

call in the S/N to any major PD or the TBI and have it run.

then prepare to forfeit it if it turns out to be hot. Know who you are buying from is the best defense. This is what would make me nervous buying a gun from someone in the aisle or parking lot of a gunshow.

Definitely know your seller! But in the event one was unsure, I'd much rather find out over the phone than in the back of a cruiser.
