I had an original one of these at one point. They were designed initially for Airborne for the folding stock M1c. Nobody liked or used them then. They were worthless and useless 60 years ago, and obviously the years continue to be unkind them.

That is awesome!! Both product and advertisement. I'll keep the holster in mind next time a plan a trip to a National Park.

Here you go, then... (once you own one, use one, you'll understand why they are worthless... They hold the gun in place with a strap over the wrist of the stock, also with a leather hole in the flap to hold the bolt in place. There is no quick draw feature about this device and it takes 2 hands to get the weapon out of this contraption)...

Also, when jumping they tend to make the leg rigid to the pelvis, if used as intended, they are bad when trying to absorb the shock of landing (can you say "break a leg? Pelvis fracture?"). Most of these were discarded in the field or never issued.

I'm guessing by the date of the add they must have found NOS and copied it. Though reproductions of this POS can now be found (why? I'd like to know).

Hey, but dig those hard cases, will you, man? Dude, those are so like masquerading as mega awesome, or what?"

If this ad is still running today, it might give one a moment to wonder just how rare, how valuable and how useful this product is/was/will be
