put a scope on my ar wanted to keep the scope low to the barrel. finding out the scope mounts are not tall enough to see through comfortably. Any way to lower the stock rather not raise the scope ? Don't really see how with the buffer tube but wanted to ask

All the pictures i see the scope sets way up high on the rail guess thats why.

What AR do you have?

a one piece scope mount is really the way to go. SWFA has some reasonably priced Burris mounts. Of course if you want to "hang with the big boys" LaRue makes some good "tactical" mounts.

ETA: the AR requires a high cheek weld due to the stock and most low scope rings made for bolt action rifles usually don't work out well.

Here is my set up

Will the front post not interfere with the sighting of the scope, being mounted low on the rifle?

Seems like you would just see the front post in your scope, and not your intended target, to me.

Then again, I am not all that knowledgeable on the AR platform either.

It doesn't effect you when looking down the scope. At least it never did on my AR's
